Aaron’s Opinion

Dr. Hoby Wedler is an American scientist and entrepreneur. Blind since
birth, he is excited by everything life has to offer and has turned
blindness, something some may consider a disadvantage, into a huge advantage
through his chemistry, sensory, and advocacy work. Hoby earned his Ph.D. in
organic chemistry from UC Davis in 2016. Since then, he has become an
entrepreneur currently with three companies. Hoby's work focuses on sensory
innovation, experiences in the food and beverage industry, product
development, design, and more. Hoby also loves advocating for other
scientists and entrepreneurs who happen to be blind or low vision.

Shaleah Raines (AKA DJ Bubbles and ShaleahJ), is a totally blind mother of one five-year-old girl. She owns an internet radio station called The Inner Visions Radio Network and is herself an artist. She sings and plays piano, and has a great appreciation for independent artists. She has owned and managed the station for over six years and plans to take it to even greater heights. Her goals outside of her radio station include making and distributing an entire album of her own original music, graduating from college with a bachelor's degree in either business management or entrepreneurship and then to continue on to gain a master's degree in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy. She wishes to open a virtual rehabilitation center for the blind and use it to help train blind and vision impaired adults in independent living skills. She sights her daughter as her greatest inspiration for everything she does, and desires to use her station to spread positivity and love around the world.
